Ever since I was a baby I have only seen Mac computers. My father, an Illustrator, bought what he thought was the best tool to make his ideas and art come to life. Throughout the early 90s, my father was faithful to Apple, and I wasn’t even aware of the existence of any other computer. I thought Apple was the only brand. It was only when I went to college that I encountered other computer brands. Only then did I realized how lucky I was to have lived my life without the headaches of other computers — Macs “just work.” That is so TRUE! Thank you Steve Jobs. You will live in my heart and, of course, in my Mac.

Baby Encounters of the 3rd Kind
This weekend I took the Red Coach Bus down to Clermont, FL to meet my godson for the first time! The ride was great but I was sad that the promised WIFI only lasted 30 mins! And thanks to my iPhone and AT&T’s horrible 3G I was at least able to finish one more episode of “My so-called life” on Netflix… Yes you read correctly, I am watching “My so-called life”, it reminds me of my middle school/high school years and I was feeling nostalgic.
Anyways, I was picked up by Mirta (my godson’s grandmother) and had a nice chat about “being a grandma to a baby boy” and vegetarian cooking! I got to the house and everyone but Ashley (my godson’s Aunt) was asleep. Ashley is an artist, I helped her create a site to showcase her work online, she was thrilled! Then I got ready for bed and went to sleep. Thirty minutes later, Melissa ( my godson’s mommy) enters the room, we hugged and talked about Dante (my godson), a few mins later I get a surprise visit! Dante was awake and I was able to finally see him in person! He was even more beautiful and adorable than on the photos and videos! At first I was a bit worried about holding him bc that was the 2nd time I had ever held a baby, but soon after it was all instincts! I thought I would feel weird about dealing with a baby but it wasn’t at all! He was such a joy and it also made me think of when my husband and I would have children of our own!
During that weekend with Dante, I had a lot of “firsts”, first time I kissed a baby, first time I made a baby smile, first time I saw a baby breast feed, first time I saw someone pumping milk (OMG!) and first time I helped a baby fall asleep. It was good to see how it all goes down, it helped me realized that I’m not ready to be a Mom, but I will be soon!
Hello world!
Thought I’d leave the WP given title for this first blog. Hello world…again! This is my second attempt at blogging… As a graphic designer I never paid attention to words, I was always focused on the art, the lines, the color and the flow, but it has come that time in a person’s life when one must conquer one’s fears… In my case… WRITING.
Words, words, words, I can express my self better with posting a link to a picture, but I guess that’s very subjective, as each individual will get a different impression…maybe that’s the point! Am I hiding behind my art? I don’t know. Which is why I decided to take the big leap and stick to a blog.
It must be a habit, to be able to express oneself accurately. The more I do it, the better I’ll get at it! One of the biggest reasons for my blog-phobia is that English in not my first language and sometimes I don’t know if I’m saying/writing things correctly. It is always a good time to learn something new and I’m always opened to change!
So, hello world! My name is Audry and I can’t wait to write to you some more!
~love, peace & light.
